Program Description:
Immerse yourself in the Spanish language and Costa Rican culture while attending 20 hours of intensive Medical Spanish courses.
You will live with a Costa Rican family and practice your new medical Spanish language skills at hospital visits and community service
projects. This amazing trip is not all work; you will also travel to beaches, volcanoes and rainforests in Costa Rica!
- After a full day of clinic work and classes, get to know your new Costa Rican family, in your week long home-stay.
- Experience the authentic Costa Rican lifestyle.
- Improve your language skills through intensive medical Spanish courses and by observing and practicing medicine in local clinics
and hospitals.
- Practice your new language skills while providing primary care to the poor in the communities of La Carpio and Puente los Anonos.
- Work with La Paz del Dial, a local Catholic Mission focused on rehabilitating the addicted in San Jose.
- Relax on the beach and hike the rainforest to see more of the beautiful country.
- Visit an active volcano and relax in the thermal pools at the base of Volcán Arenal at Tabacón Spa and Resort.
- In your free time, learn how to cook the typical foods "gallo pinto" and dance the traditional dances "salsa and meringue."

- Attend Medical Spanish classes
- Provide Primary Care and Preventative Health Care Education in various contexts in Costa Rica
- Experience the authentic cultural experience by living with a local family
Registration has begun for the March 2009 trip to Costa Rica!

Cost per student:
$3,900 (includes airfare, private in country transportation, lodging, language school tuition and materials, guided tours,
national park entrances, weekend excursions, and some group meals)

is subject to change.

Approx: March 11-25, 2009 (15 days total dates will solidify by Oct 1st).
Commitment deposit of $1,000.00 due on October 1st, 2008. Payment schedule for balance will
be available once committed.
