Immersion Experience for High School
Spend 2 weeks in Costa Rica this summer and give your Spanish the boost it needs to move from academic knowledge to practical skills!
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Common Ground International’s High School Spanish Immersion to Costa Rica is a program that
is specifically designed to improve your Spanish communication skills, experience first-hand the beauty of Costa Rica, and gain
cultural understanding. The four major components of this experience are:
- Language Immersion: This experiential learning opportunity provides you with intensive spanish language classes
with native Costa Rican instructors.
- Cultural Understanding: You gain insight into Costa Rican and typical Latino culture while living and interacting
with your Costa Rican host family.
- Community Service: You experience first hand the Educational System in Costa Rica by visiting local schools and
working alongside Costa Rican teachers and students on various educational projects. You gain great appreciation for your own
blessings as you work in community service projects for the homeless and underserved in Costa Rica.
- Adventure Tourism: Experience the biodiversity of the country while hiking through primary rainforests, active
volcanoes and exploring beautiful beaches!
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: Year after year, each student gains invaluable Spanish language skills, cultural understanding,

your new Costa Rican family in your weeklong home stay.
